In accordance with my policy of naming things so that I will take better care of them, I've finally named my two cacti.

The tall thin prickly one that leans badly to one side is now known as House. It leans so badly I might have to prop it up. Do they make cactus-sized canes?

The smaller round prickly extremely cute one is now known as Rodney.

I still need a name for my massive bromeliad. I wonder what one names a large cumbersome spikey plant with a lopsided bloom that must be watered down its throat every few days?

*sigh*

*laughs butt off*

You sure are going to have some snarky plants there...

Snarkiest. Plants. Ever.

I'm starting to worry about House, though. He's leaning at an alarming rate. *frets*

Tehee, too cute!

*whittles out a cacti-sized cane for House*

For the bromeliad, I'd go with Willie. You know, because Bromeliad is the family that pineapples are in...and Pineapple Willie is a famous bromeliad, so...yeah.

(Spanish moss is in that family too, but that isn't really all that exciting.)

Do not dis the proud Spanish moss! I love that stuff. Did you know people used to use it to stuff mattresses? I can't think of anything less comfortable, really... but still.

Willie... Willie the Bromeliad... *muses*

Hee hee! I'm sure he'd appreciate it. He's leaning at a dangerous angle. I hope he doesn't fall over and impale Rodney...

Hrmm...names...for a large, cumbersome, spikey thing...

Crabbe?

Or maybe Goyle?

(Me, reading HP6 right now? No....)

Oy. Two unhappy campers.

Hee hee!

Another good suggestion. Except it's kind of pretty, in a strange lopsided way. I dunno. This is why it hasn't gotten a name yet.

Ooooh! When you're done with HP6, let me know what you thought!

I'm on page 564 at the moment, and all I'll say right now is:

*loves on Draco so so much*

Hrm, large, cumbersome, spikey and sort of cute...Neville?

True dat.

Now, who will win this momentous snarkfest? Cripply Cacti House or the newly, perforated, Know-It-All McKay?...dum dumdum dum. Only time will tell.

*goes and checks page number* Ahh. Hee.

Oooh! It does mesh nicely with Neville, doesn't it?

*squints speculatively at plant*

(I already know the big spoiler, by the way. *sad face* Someone at work told me. *kicks work*)

Yes, it fits Neville rather well. Up to you, of course. I've yet to see if it fits Slughorn, but I think it's close.

From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
Holy crap. That person at work is the epitome of all evil. People who spoil should be scalpled. In the EYE.

*clears throat*

Anyway. Oooh. Slughorn. Now I'm conflicted.

But hey! Slughorn likes pinapple; Robyn informed me that bromeliads are related to pinapples... *chews lip*

From: [identity profile] otakuoverlorde.livejournal.com
Personally, I would say Neville, because I'm partial and he gets like, no love.

But of course, it is your plant. And the pineapple thing *is* convincing.

*kicks work again*

From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
Eh. I'm not at all particularly attached to Slughorn.

You know, you're right. Neville gets NO love. Ever. Poor tyke. And he's always getting hurt or cursed or some such.

Hm. I think it sticks.
