So, I'm sitting at my computer, reading archived Dinosaur Comics, when I feel something tickling my face.

IT WAS AN EARWIG.

ON MY CHEEK. OH MY GOD. I think I need to go lie down. What was it doing there?! How did it get there?! MY CHEEK IS LIKE TWO INCHES FROM MY EAR. (I've heard the whole earwig-can-only-go-one-direction-and-thus-will-burrow-into-your-brain thing is a myth, but I'M NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES)

TIME FOR SOME THRILLING HYSTERICS.

Curling is like snooker, poker and free-face rock climbing. It is dangerous shit.

I bet they do have earwigs.

But I was thinking more Ray Kowalksi in Aslyum. Cause of the lying down part.

I am sorry. I am heavily one track minded these days.

Well, the snooker, poker, free-face rockclimbing line is from Paul.

But yeah, earwigs + curling are awesome. Everything to do with curling is awesome. :D

SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE ON MY FACE

They're about an inch long at most and live in leaf mold, so there was NO REASON for one to be in my room, LET ALONE MY FACE.

My freshman year at Huntingdon we read a report on Camel Spiders and couldn't sleep because we were all convinced they'd find their way to our bed, never mind they only lived in desert climates.

My roommates and I were special. And jumpy.

my understanding of the word earwig is something undercover peoples stick in their ear to communicate with other peoples who aren't undercover :| You apparently have a different definition of the word hence my confusion.

Edit: Oh my. so I image googled earwigs and I can see why you'd be freaking out. they do look kind of creepy. I have never seen this type of earwig in person though and I really hope I don't.

On a more humorous note.

The technological earwig got its name from the creepy critter.

Also, apparently not that many people know what earwigs are? I was first introduced to them in Colorado, and then again in Alabama. I'm not really sure where they do and don't live. I do a lot of gardening, though, so I get to come into close contact with them outside more often than I would like.

BEST EAR WIG EVER

I had to Google that coz I thought earwigs are those mini-micro earpiece things in spy movies and such.

It's not cool though. I hope that earwig didn't have any brothers.

Apparently I'm the only one who grew up being told numerous earwig stories? Which is great, because they're all horrifying.

SERIOUSLY. EARWIGS, STAY AWAY PLEASE.
