Dear RTD:

You have made me kind of despise Ten. THIS IS A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT, but not necessarily one you should be proud of. You've taken the Doctor, who prides himself on encouraging others to think for themselves and to be awesome, and made him into the kind of guy who mindrapes people. Good job!

As much as it pains me to say this, I would have been happier if Donna had died. But while we're on that subject: please to be explaining to me, IN EXACT DETAIL, why it is that Donna having a little Time Lord in her made her brain explody, but Rose having THE ENTIRETY OF TIME INSIDE HER had no lasting effect? Ten could totally have siphoned off some of that. No really. NO REALLY. Would it really have made him regenerate? I kind of doubt it, but even if it did, and we had Brand New Doctor, that STILL would have been better than what ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

EPIC GODDAMNED FAIL, RTD.

WHERE IS MY MOFFAT?! I NEED MOFFAT NOW. And I would like for Donna to be awesome again, thanks. BECAUSE NOW SHE'S ALL OMG ALIENS WHAT OY I WAS TAKIN' A NAP YOU GUYS and seriously, why did we even have a whole season of Donna being awesome and keeping the Doctor grounded in reality just to have it all set back to square one?

FEMINISM, UR DOIN IT WRONG.

DONNA THANKS FOR SAVING THE WORLD AND ALL, BUT YOU'VE GOT TO GO BACK TO BEING DUMB AGAIN, OKAY? OKAY!! AND YOUR FAMILY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE INCAPABLE OF DOING IT YOURSELF. HAVE A GREAT LIFE! NO REALLY!

OH MY GOD. WHATEVER.

NO LOVE,

Alex

Well, Rose is special in the sense that no one else can be. Didn't you know? She can do and be anything. She is better than us regular human beings.

I could cry about this part of the ep.

*clings to you*

Please give me Action!Callum news to make this better.

Oh, next companion played by Callum. I can so get into that. The experimental hair on the screen will fill me with so much glee. If only I had the power to make it happen.

OMG HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT ROSE'S SPECIALNESS. OBVIOUSLY I FAIL.

*CLINGS*

I got a little sidetracked on Action!Callum because I had a [livejournal.com profile] scifigirl-shaped friend staying over, but I have made a Callum head. I have to paint it before I know if it looks enough like Callum, but I had a lot of fun making it. :D

OMG WE NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Companion!Callum! That's the best thing ever!!

*snuggles*

Oh, I can imagine that working on Callum's head would be a lot of fun.

Yeah, wouldn't that be the most awesome thing in the history of ever? It is what keeps me happy these last few days and will do so until DW goes on and destroys my dreams.

Well, that and this

Tehehe. I am actually starting to look forward to it.

Though not as much as to Flashpoint.

Wheeeeee. Is it Friday yet?

Well, how do you accidentally go down on someone? *giggles*

Yeah, it is unbelievable what kind of crap I have watched just for Callum.

I am about to catch up on the first season and it is not as bad as I thought it would be from watching the first ep last year.

I just have to get over Gracie Sheffield giving Fox Mulder a blowjob. It was a traumatizing experience. ;)

But Callum and David could be really great on that show. And seeing as everyone gets naked all the time, there is some hope for naked Callum butt. :D

Californication here we come.

But really, Flashpoint. Please don't suck and I will forgive you for putting the pink Power Ranger on your show. Well, I already forgave you for that by putting Hugh Dillon on a show with Keith Mars (well, Enrico whatever his last name, but you know who I mean).

Yes.

Keith Mars and Joe Dick fighting crime. It has to be awesome.

It runs against Stargate Atlantis, though.

And I haven't seen it yet. But there is much squee on my friendlist for the first ep.

Here are a few articles, if you are interested

I love Hugh's acting so very much. Even more than Callum's (don't tell him, please ;)) and I love Enrico, so I kinda have high hopes for it.

We will see.

I just saw it.

And, well, I think you should watch it, but to entirely make up your mind answer these questions to yourself.

1. Do you want to miss out on something as awesome as this

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v493/roadrunner1896/?action=view¤t=hugh.flv

*draws tiny little hearts all around Hugh*

I do think he will make real music for the show, too, though, judging from what he said in interviews.

2. Do you like manpain of the angsty psychological kind?

3. Do you like tough guys who love their child like every father should and have their child be a dorky but adorable cello player even though they probably bet the crap out of the kids who played in the classical orchestra when they went to school themselves?

4. Do you like thrillers that make your heart race without having to have car chases and blowing up things. Or well, not with big explosions?

5. Would you like to see Toronto as Toronto and thus admire it in the whole beauty it is and not having to pose as a fake New York or fake Chicago or fake Philadelphia or something?

and 6. Would you like to see a cop named Kowalski ordering a character played by Hugh Dillon to strip down to his underwear? Cause I clearly do not want to miss the mental and the actual image that gave me. *new happy place*

I think if you can answer more than half of these questions with "yes", you want to see this show.

God, I can't wait for next week, even if another character will be focused on. I am already so much in love with Ed, it is scary.

*grins*

I am sorry to inform you that you have caught Hugh Flu now. It usually comes shortly after Callum Fever and there is no cure. But so far there are only near death reports due to too much flailing and squeeing and general fangirling, no actual death occurred.

It is fun to see how much he grew as an actor from Hard Core Logo, where he asked Callum about almost everything to this now. I didn't notice any Callum in this ep and it was a really demanding ep for Hugh. Two years ago he would still switch into Callum mode every now and then (only twice and only visible to those slightly obsessed, though *cough*) on Durham County. But even on Hard Core Logo he was so amazing with his rough approach to Joe. I am so glad Bruce talked him into acting. Not that I mind his music. But I would miss his mancrush on Callum. ;)

I totally love this show. Not only does it have two very talented actors and a bunch of talented actors and one not that experienced actor who has potential, but if they keep up this rhythm of "physical" tension for half the show and then the angst muffin stuff for the other half while making their actors and the town they shoot in look so beautiful and subtly giving us so much material about the characters that fanfic writers' brains explode all over the country, I could watch this for the rest of my life.

If you need an icon, I made some here

http://meresy.livejournal.com/78364.html?thread=1992732#t1992732

Next week is apparently focused on Keith Mars Greg. But that is fine by me, cause he is awesome, too. :D

Ed already rocks my world, though, so it will be hard for Greg to pull even. I mean, he is cute, he is dorky, he is loving and he is tough and he has all that angst to deal with on the inside. I just want to huggle him and make everything better. But that is what he has his son for. Who seems to be played by another talented actor. I forgot about him. Well, I loved when he got the phone call and how he reacted there. He gives good reaction shot faces. I also love that his parents told him what his dad is doing and he can deal with that and is there for his father. *&hearts the show*

OH NOES!! :D I'm glad it's only near-death I have to worry about though.

I LOVE THESE ICONS! I'M STEALING A WHOLE BUNCH OF THEM.

Also, I totally agree with [livejournal.com profile] meresy's idea that Callum should totally guest star as RCMP. OMG AWESOME.

I'd be more show-squealy but I am very tired. :P But really, this is such an awesome show and I am already in love with the characters and can't wait for more!

Even if it is untreatable (or at least I haven't heard of anyone who ever got cured) it is a fun disease to have. :D

Hehe. Thanks. *hugs*

[livejournal.com profile] meresy has brilliant ideas like that. Sadly I am afraid Callum will guest star as the weekly psychopath, though. But Hugh and he will have tons of fun when Hugh has to kill him. :D

I love Canadian shows so very much when they are good (well, sometimes even when they are bad ;)).

I really hope that it will manage to keep the good ratings and maybe even be put on a better time slot.

Either way, it would be awesome to have Callum guest star...

I'm crossing my fingers for a better time slot, because I think as of next week I'll have to be recording two shows already at that time slot. Although maybe it repeats later?

:D

If it gets a second season it is probably inevitable to have Callum guest star. Cause it is a tv show shot in Canada. ;)

But he'll be in California a lot this year for Californication. So I am not sure how much time he has. It is not like he can just fly over for a few hours and then be home again in the evening. It would be totally awesome, though.

Wait, there are two shows at that timeslot that you like more than Flashpoint? I know SGA is there, but that show jumped the shark a long while ago. What else is on that you would prefer to The Hugh? Apparently you haven't caught the Flu yet. :p

I think this week there was a Sunday repeat. You could also watch the ep on the CBS site, but I don't know if they'll be doing that for all the eps. Probably not.

*megahearts Ed , too*

SHH IT'S TOTALLY GOING TO GET A SECOND SEASON DON'T JINX IT!!

Oh, Callum. *snuggles him*

SGA is on the Tivo because Danny would pitch a fit if it wasn't recorded, and either Monk or Psych comes on at the same time as SGA (although SGA seems like it's going to be pretty awesome this season, which is exciting), and Mom would kill me if either Monk or Psych didn't get Tivo'd, so it's not so much that I don't have Hugh fever, it's that certain things have to be Tivo'd to maintain a peaceful household. :P

I'm going to see if I can shuffle SGA to a later time. It's not letting me do it now, but I'm sure it will closer to the day. And if not, I can always find Flashpoint online, but I would prefer to have it on Tivo.

Canadians are weird though. If they tell their story in one season, there will only be one season regardless of how sucessful the show is. *clings to the six eps of Durham County*

At least it makes show not jump the shark and leave a bad aftertaste.

Why do you have to be the one having to push your needs in the background in order for your brother and mother? That is not fair.

I stopped watching Monk, cause it got boring somwhere around season 4.

I need to get Psych, though. I want to see my friend on tv, so I can't complain about that one, I guess.

Date: 2008-07-14 08:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
I respect that, and find that to be pretty awesome (because sometimes shows just need to end, as sad as that is) but the fangirl part of me wants to pitch a hissy fit and yell at them that they can just make up more stories. :P

Mom watches maybe three or four shows, compared to the many many shows I watch, so she gets first pick. Also, she pays the bills. My brother just gets super-special treatment sometimes. :P

I almost stopped watching around season four, but then I picked up again. The last season was kind of incredible, and actually focused on character growth and interesting plots, not just showcasing Monk's phobia of the week. It's still not the show I'd jump into a burning building for, but I enjoy it.

Oh, you so need to get Psych! It's amazing and funny and totally random and I love it to pieces. Who is your friend on tv?

From: [identity profile] roadrunner1896.livejournal.com
Yeah, people could not be talked into a fourth season of Slings & Arrows either. Though Paul had other plans already and without Geoffrey it would just not have worked. Or actually it wouldn't have worked regardless.

Cause I guess they could have made up more stories, but not in the same quality to actually do a show justice. It is what I kinda hate about American shows. They keep milking them until no one involved is willing to do it anymore. There are so many shows where there is such a quality drop towards later seasons. Buffy, X-Files, Stargate and what not. It makes me really sad.

Hugh should give your brother a super-special treatment. ;) (Note, this makes sense if you know how much Hugh loves spitting)

I could not be bothered with Monk anymore. It totally went on my nerves and I rather saved the time for other stuff.

I will so get into Psych. My friend has a talking role there. :D

Well, still an extra role, but with talking.

I assume this post is unlocked? I will not expose her name here, because certain people are good with google. But ahem, we share obsessions and are lj friends and you should catch her name? It is fun to hear about all the people she worked with and how shooting works and such. I wish I were brave enough to become an extra. Or live somewhere where you can actually work as one.

Date: 2008-07-14 09:18 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
Yeah, really. I didn't watch X-Files, but Buffy definitely, and many other shows that I've watched should have ended long before they actually did. I approve of the need to put quality over quantity.

Hugh spitting on my brother? AWESOME.

I can totally understand how that can happen. There are only a certain number of shows out there that can be watched, and we have to cut our losses now and then.

This post is not locked, but I can lock it if you'd like. But I'd hate to get your friend in trouble. That's cool that she's an extra! That would be loads of fun to do!

I am actually not that far in X-Files yet. It is supposed to jump around the fourth/fifth season and I have only watched up to Callum's second ep in Season 2.

I guess it is because Canadian shows don't make that much money. So they can't afford to have an extra season that might lose audience and that won't be funded properly and such. And we all know how evil the funding process in Canada can be from how long it took Paul to fund Men With Brooms, which lead to no Callum in it. *sigh*

I sometimes imagine Hugh spitting at people who annoy me. It makes things easier than to yell at them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd2yjzL9Sno

Don't watch the other vidoes youtube gives you there unless you want to get spoilt for the movie, which you don't want to. Trust me.

Not sure how much she would get in trouble, but rather not risk anything. Still, it gets me all excited and I will watch so much crap for her. The things I do for the people I love. *sigh*

I just lost a whole load of reply! Stupid MegaUpload toolbar! *kicks* Let's see if I remember any of it:

I think Ten-with-one-heart is weird in a way that his being part-human is all wrong. He fits right in though in that parallel universe though with the awesome Rose Tyler where they will live, grow old, have babies and basically stay forever and never mess up time and space ever again. I hope.

And they made me all excited in the previous eps when Rose made her brief appearances. It was kind of a let-down.

I hated how they treated Donna like a voodoo doll. Whoever was manipulating time and space used her. It's like her life had only one purpose and when she did her part she was tossed aside. The look on Gramps' face as the Doctor told them what happened said it all. How can they sit there though and not kick and punch the Doctor out of their house after violating their Donna like that?

So now he's all alone again. Great.

They have to make Season 5 pretty damn spectacular if they want redemption.

Oh, man, Donna's grandfather broke my heart.

I just hope the special episodes don't make me want to break things. I'm pretty sure once Moffat takes over, I will want to break things less, but we just have to get through the specials first. :[

The first, which we've already filmed, will go out this Christmas. The next will go out the following Easter. The other specials have yet to be scheduled, although one will definitely be on at Christmas 2009."
