I happened to stumble across an interesting list of future films today. Apparently Hollywood is taking the potential SAG strike seriously, and is going to cram in as much filming as possible before that date. Nice going, guys. Good luck with that.

This is a very strange list.

What's with all the remakes? A Christmas Carol, Escape from Witch Mountain, Day the Earth Stood Still (They're kidding, right? It's an homage, right? NO.), Creature from the Black Lagoon (There's also a Wolfman and a Dracula movie slated. Maybe Abbot and Costello can show up and have a wacky adventure!), Land of the Lost...

The A-Team? Really? Really?!

The potential film that most upsets me: the Sherlock Holmes movie. THERE IS NO SHERLOCK HOLMES BUT JEREMY BRENT. And maybe Basil Rathbone. And Data on those episodes of TNG. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, a Holmes movie is an abomination. (An abomination I'll be paying 7.50 to go see, because I'm pathetic. Damn you, Warner Brothers!!)

My favorite potential movie: Captain Awesome. I'd go see that! I'd go see that in a heartbeat!

Haha, that's crazy! Well, I guess I'll go see it after all... The original is one of my favorite movies. I'll bring popcorn, and if it's really bad I can always throw the popcorn, right?

Fake rain makes no sense. Neither does Hollywood. :D

I know. And it is her first job as an extra. Her husband got a job in Vancouver in December, so they moved there and a friend of theirs asked her to come to his agent with him, because she is an "interesting" type and could probably get enough jobs as an extra to earn a bit of money. And two days later she scored her first job. :D

Shooting was delayed several times due to snow falls, though. Boooo.

And well, I guess fake rain makes sense for a two day shoot that will take up a minute or two in the movie, because while it did rain both days, it might not have rained one day and then they would have had two different types of rain. Still, it must be cruel to have this fake hard raindrops come at you from this rain crane when you are already freezing and soaked.

I will look out for my friend. Throwing popcorn is a waste. I'd rather eat it. I mean if you paid for a sucky movie, why throw away the expensive popcorn?

That is so cool!

I get what you're saying about the fake rain... It's just so strange that in the city of rain they have to make fake rain.

Throwing popcorn is fun! But I'd only throw popcorn if I were in the front row of the theater, because it's just rude to throw popcorn and have it land on the people around you. :] When I go to movies, I don't usually buy popcorn unless my brother is there, because there's only so much movie popcorn I can eat. And he and I together only eat maybe 50% of the three-dollar-size popcorn. :]

It is. I am so excited for her. :D

I really hope that she'll get to do a lot of work and I will one day see her on the screen. Preferably with Callum. :D

Oh, I only take the small bag of popcorn. I see it is nowhere near the size of what I see you Americans get.

But from the small bags I'd only throw the corns that didn't pop. But I am too well behaved to throw anything at the movies. *sigh*

Another fun activity that I will have to miss out on due to proper upbringing.

I went ahead and screened your first comment, just in case. :] If you want me to unscreen it, let me know. ;D

Na, it is better this way. I think screened comments can't be googled, can they? And not like I mentioned last names, but you never know what someone will google for and how far up your journal comes. Don't want to get anyone in trouble for not keeping information in private circles (like that ever happens in this time and age anyway).

You know these movie remakes should be banned...*poout*

...Any why are they messing with Sherlock Holmes? Do they not understand that the sun itself will explode from the severe wrong that is in the act of remaking Sherlock Holmes?!

I KNOW, RIGHT?!!

I looked it up, but they don't even have a one-line synopsis. Sadness! I'm hoping it's not another go at that Sherlock Holmes movie that was supposed to come out a couple of years ago where some guy in New York discovers he's Holmes's descendant, and decides to go solve crimes...

I actually got into a severe disagreement with my mother over that plot. Which is just WRONG, because he didn't HAVE kids. Saying Sherlock had kids is like saying Jesus had kids. DID NOT HAPPEN. LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU I'VE GOT MY FINGERS IN MY EARS.

I...Just...wow. I am so glad I never heard of that movie. The only way Holmes could possibly of had a child is a) he was extremely drunk and inhibited (huge impossibility) and b) being said drunk, fell onto a hooker and started humping her.

There is just so much wrong with him possibily having descendants, so much wrong.

SERIOUSLY. It's just so incredibly unlikely.

Unless the hooker was dressed like Watson.

Unless he also donated to a sperm bank (highly improbable since they did not exist in Holmes's day and age) in his younger years.

THANK YOU! ...And get out of my head...

Mom was all, "Maybe he had a fiance in his youth, and they were married, and then she died, and their child was raised by" bla blah blah improbablility cakes. Which is JUST AS LIKELY as the sperm bank option. BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE CHILDREN.

You're quite welcome. But it's comfy in there!!

Exactly, and we can deduce (ahahaha, I slay me) from what Watson knows from him that Holmes did not have any romanctic relationships apart from the mad humping of Watson in his life...EVER.

Hee... *sigh* Oh, all right, but be careful of that pillow. It's really a wombat.

OMG YES. In fact, I think when I get finished with the stack of books I'm currently reading, I will go through my book that has every single Holmes story in it and search for any references to his relationships because I am obsessed and scary.

Good thing I'm carrying wombat chow!

The only woman who has ever caught his attention was Irene Adler in "The Scandal in Bohemia."

Really good. *sagely nod*

I forgot him in my list of people playing Holmes!

Alright, if Hugh Laurie's playing Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming movie, I am so there. :D
