So, apparently MySpace hates me. It won't let me log in or anything, and any time I try it goes crazeh on me. Alas. And I've got mail! Mail that must be answered! Raaaa!

Anyway.

1. A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.
2. A physiological or temperamental peculiarity.
3. An unusual individual reaction to food or a drug.
List five of your own idiosyncrasies and then tag five friends to do the same.

1] I can't stand eggs. At all. Not just a specific method of cooking eggs, but anything with eggs in it, which includes stuff like tapioca and meringue. I can't stand the sight or smell of them. HATE.

2] I can't stand water either. It makes me nauseated. I can't really drink more than a sip or two at a time, unless it's insanely hot. I share this with my dad and grandmother.

3] I can't stand Patrick Swayze. I have this intense deep-seated revulsion to the man. I don't know why.

4] I can hold my breath underwater for, like, ever. So far my record is just over two minutes.

5] I stop breathing if I'm concentrating on something too hard. Example-- when I still played piano, if I was working on a particularly difficult bit, I'd just forget to breathe because I was so focused on the piece. It's crazy.

Tagging is one of the deadly sins.

While I'm meming, why not continue on with this one?

Write 20 facts about yourself. Note the number of minutes it takes you. Then tag that same number of people.

1] I watch a lot of random old movies, usually just because they've got an actor I like in them. As a result, I've seen a lot of crap movies.

2] I still remember most of the theme songs from all of the shows I watched when I was little.

3] I'm a total hypochondriac.

4] I own almost every book Agatha Christie ever wrote, including ones she wrote under other names.

5] Someone once told me that I was too sarcastic for my own good. Heh.

6] If I am the only person in the house, I will sing all sorts of songs at extreme volumes.

7] I can make arrowheads. Not great ones, but still.

8] I'm ambidextrous.

9] I've gotten chicken pox twice.

10] I can read some books over and over and never get tired of them.

11] My printer's name is Clarence, after the angel on "It's a Wonderful Life."

12] I could eat macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes forever.

13] The first book I ever read by myself was "A Silly Story" by Mercer Mayer.

14] My first word was "light."

15] I am deathly afraid of heights.

16] I can play two songs on the guitar, "Golden Slumbers" and "Hey Jude."

17] I've never broken a bone. [Knock on wood.]

18] I can curl my tongue.

19] I can find something amusing about practically everything.

20] I can find four-leaf clovers.

Again, no tagging. If you wanna, okay. If not, I'm not gonna make you.

You are on MySpace, too. I start to feel left out.

Am I missing anything except for more trouble with yet another online thingie?

I love Agatha Christie. I like Edgar Wallace a bit more, but those two rocked my childhood. I had a whole shelf of their books.

I am surprised your first word wasn't "salt" (no, I won't let that go anytime soon)

My first word was "car" and I hate cars.

And tagging is indeed one of the deadly sins. *huggles you*

Don't feel left out. It's just anther hassle. And personally, I prefer LJ much much more. I just have a MySpace account because some friends of mine are on it and not LJ. Sadness.

*rolls eyes* Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be hearing the last of the salt thing. That's okay. *huggles*

What's your favorite Agatha Christie book? And who's Edgar Wallace? I don't think I've ever heard of him before.

You can read about Edgar Wallace here

http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/ewallace.htm

His and Agatha Christie's books were published by the same paperback book selling company here in Germany and so they would come in pairs and they had the same cover colors (red/black/white). My friend Thomas hooked me with Edgar Wallace books in seventh grade. I loved crime mystery stories.

I think Edgar Wallace isn't that popular in the US. He even became a bit unpopular in Britian, but here in Germany he is still very famous due to the movies that were made in the 50s/60s/70s. They are on constant repeat here. I think even more so than Agatha Christie movies.

If you have the chance, maybe you should check out Edgar Wallace. I might try and find a page with summaries or even better one that has the original title next to the German, as I have no idea what "Der Frosch mit der Maske" or "Das Geheimnis der Gelben Narzissen" would be in English. *gg*

Ooooh.

I will definitely see if I can find any of his books. I love reading mysteries.

I'll have to check our libraries. Maybe they'll have some of his books?

Thanks! *huggles*

Hopefully they have. I loved his books and I have read most of the. Some are a bit slow, though, but either the writing or the story was usually fascinating. Sometimes even both at the same time. *gg*

Glee!

Can you recommend any in particular?

Like I said, I need to find a page with German to English title translations. In the first part of the 20th century they even translated names into German half of the time. You can't just word by word translate it back.

I will see if I can find a list of the books now and will be back with some particular recs.

Okay, these are my favorites

- The Crimson Circle
- The Fellowship of the Frog
- The Gaunt Stranger (I am not sure if I like this because I like the movie so much)
- The Daffodil Mystery
- The Four Just Men
- The Green Archer
- The Black Abbot
- The Squeaker
- The Traitor's Gate
- The Terror

Those are the ones I read at least twice.

Hope you can find one or a few of them and that you will enjoy them. They are a bit different to Christie, but still good. Not everyone's cup of tea, though.

Hee.

And I forgot to tell you earlier that MySpace is being all slow and crazy for me too. It takes forever to load, if it loads at all. Last night I tried to log in and it said something about maintenence...so maybe it's being fixed.

If you think that's good, you should see my dad. He can hold his breath for so long it's scary.

Is "ever wrote" grammatically possible?

You are starting to sound like Monk with all those idiosyncracies. They're all just psychological, you know that right?

Date: 2005-09-14 02:12 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
Yes.

Both of these are perfectly acceptable:

"I read every book she ever wrote."

"I read every book she had ever written."

What? I only listed five!
