So. Here's the thing.

We're going on a family trip to Birmingham. It's partially to visit my aunt and partially so that Dad can go to this class for teaching EFM.

Friday, for those of you who don't know, is GateFriday. New eps. And again, for those of you who don't know, last season of Atlantis ended on a serious down note, what with the possible destruction of the city and John's life and everyone else's life hanging on that horrible To Be Continued.

Also on Friday evening, Monk. With Monk's Brother! Who I totally love. Because they're both so cute.

Also on Friday evening, unbeknownst to me, but apparently knownst to Mom all along: dinner with the aunt and her boyfriend.

Now. I love, LOVE Aunt Witty dearly. She's the bestest aunt in the whole wide world. She really is. But... GateFriday! I mean, Mom said we'll probably be back by 8:30 at the lastest, but... GATEFRIDAY! ! And by 8:30, 30 of Atlantis will be GONE FOREVER. So we'll bring my cute new VCR, and attempt to tape them. I don't know when I'll be able to watch said eps, but... gah.

Also. For those of you who don't know [yes, you, out from under that rock you've been living under for the last eight years] the new Harry Potter book comes out Saturday. Some people are standing in line so that, when the clock strikes midnight, they get their new book. And they get to start reading it then.

On Saturday, we're not going to the bookstore until we've dropped Dad off for his class. At 9. Then we're going to spend the day at the Botanical Gardens or the Zoo or the McWayne Science Museum or some such place. I probably won't get to even check out the first chapter until we start heading for home.

Mom says I'll live. I'm not so sure.

I think she thinks I'm making a bigger deal about all this than I really need to. *sigh* Maybe I am. But I've been waiting for a few months for The Seige pt 3, and over a YEAR for The Half-Blood Prince. Gah.

Chill out with the television already. It is consuming your life, and I can't stand by and watch you drown in hormonal tidepools over each new episode.

While I always love to hear people are excited about reading, I feel like you can take the afternoon off and visit your family and get out and enjoy nature. Birmingham Botanical Gardens is beyond beautiful, and I had a great time there last summer. So, please, do me a favor and get out there and enjoy it.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I just needed to vent and, after said venting, I feel much better able to face the day and all that jazz.

Actually, having expended the energy to make an LJ post about it, I really don't care anymore. I ranted, and now... eh.

I'm sure I'm going to have a great time in Birmingham. I've wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens and all the other places for a while. And I've wanted to meet Aunt Witty's beau for quite some time as well.

It'll be fun!
