May. 26th, 2005 10:00 pmYayyy! Our AC is fixed!
I don't know what Southerners did before AC's. No wonder they fainted so much and fought so many duels.
Today at work we ran wood through the chipper to make mulch so that we no longer have to hoe the nut grass out of the ginormous vegetable garden. Normally I'd be happy about this. I mean, what's not to love about pouring largish woodchips into a potentially dangerous piece of equipment filled with choppy things. But we worked for an hour and a half and got barely enough mulch to mulch 1 1/2 rows of tomato plants. This shall be a long summer.
It'd be a lot easier if I weren't working with two guys. They keep trying to see what happens when they put a 20 foot log into the chipper, or when they put plywood into it, or they're putting their hands all up in the blade... it's insane.
But at least I was able to pull my share of the work. I get teased a lot, being The Girl, and the Boss's Daughter to boot... but that's alright. Teasing means I belong now.
In Other News. My kitty's been having problems, so now she's on antidepressants. It's hi-larious. She's like a different kitty. She doesn't try to maim innocent passers-by. She no longer does cruel and painful things to let me know she's hungry. She doesn't even bite me anymore. Perhaps I should look into getting her more of them...

Date: 2005-05-27 06:46 pm (UTC)I assure you Southerners had ways of cooling down...Although it still surprises me that they wore such stiff and thick clothing back in the 1800s...I mean, what the hell were they thinking?!...

Date: 2005-05-28 04:08 am (UTC)Seriously! Skirts you can't sit down in? A bazillion layers of clothing on days that hit at least the 90's? Crazy people. Makes me glad I can wear shorts and a tank top, should I wish to.
Here's hoping she doesn't become addicted...
I'm hoping I don't get too used to her new attitude... It will be a sad day when she goes off her happy pills. :D
