So I get into the car to go home for the weekend, and the first thing Dad says to me is "Alex, I read your paper" [this would be the Slip'n'Slide O' Magical Healing paper] "and I wanted to tell you... Thurber? Benchley? They've got nothing on you."
I am still in shock. Dad doesn't flatter. He only says exactly what he thinks.
I think he thought I was wasting my time [just a little bit] with majoring in Creative Writing, but now he wants me to start considering publication.
I am still in shock.
Happy shock, but... shock nonetheless.
