Ah, New Year's. A time for realizing that once again, you've neglected your diet and forgotten last year's resolution to finally go to the gym three times a week. Or that no, this year that award-winning, best-selling novel didn't quite get written. Or that, despite good intentions, you still spend more time arguing with your brother than you do on homework.

A time for weighing the choices of the old year with the possibilities of the new one. It's like a blank page, the most magic and most frightening of all things to a writer or an artist... a chance to change or to keep on keeping on... And in the spirit of this time of reevaluation [and kicking parties, judging by the noise and laughter and... are those fireworks or gunfire?... coming from our neighbor's house] I hereby place forth my goals, knowing that I might not keep them... but there's always a chance I will. Just maybe this time.

Next year, I shall:

Eat better
Exercise more
Write more
Be kinder to others
Draw more
Read more
Procrastinate less
Help more
Angst out less
Sing more

Here's hoping that you, my friends, have a good year... we'll have some fun, yes yes?

Eat better

Two words that might disuade you: Dining Hall.

I know, I know... my mom's always telling me to eat good food, but... really. How am I supposed to go about finding good food to eat? Gah.

Oh, well... at the very least, it's a good goal...
