Mom came out of surgery okay. Thanks for all of your kind words and thoughts. However, she'll have to go in again for more surgery, perhaps in Birmingham, in a few weeks. So, uh... yeah.
The hospital was good. Nice people, and her doctor was wonderful. No cane, no Vicodin problem, but he was a bit scruffy... And there was a whiteboard in the room they prepped her in! That reassured me, strangely. Dad and I got to sit in a loud waiting room all morning, drinking coffee and snarfing sugar free fat free jelly beans and dropping peanuts on the floor and listening in on other people's strange conversations, and then we got to sit with Mom in Recovery, and now she's home.
Tomorrow we're planning on watching many movies we've been meaning to watch for forever, because she's getting the first real vacation she's had in practically forever, and we're going to enjoy it. Woo!
Also. Side note. I just realized why the “H” in the House M.D. logo has a square around it. Yes, I am an idiot. *sigh*
