I had the weirdest dream just now.
I was sitting in church, waiting for the service to start, when my phone rang. "Hello?"
"This is the hospital," a faint and creaking old-lady voice answered. "Jenny, I wonder if you'd mind turning the air conditioning on; it's getting rather hot in here."
"What?" I was understandably confused.
"If you wouldn't mind turning the air on, it's just that it's getting rather hot all round, and it's getting rather warm in the morgue, and none of us want that, do we, dear," she said.
"I-- I'm sorry, there must be some sort of misunderstanding? I think you have the wrong number, ma'am."
"Oh, no," she said, "I know exactly who I'm calling."
Mom started to gesture at me; they couldn't start the church service until I was done with my phone call. "Um, ma'am? I wonder if you could give me the number you were trying to call?" I figured that, worst come to worst, I could call Jenny for her, and get the situation resolved that way.
"Oh, alright." I could tell by the sound of her voice that she was smiling. She rattled off a list of seven names.
"I--what? What was that?"
"That was the number, dear," she said, sounding cagey, and I realized that she'd given me the number in cypher. As one does. And that the first letter in each word represented a number.
I asked her if she'd mind repeating the names, and she did. I wrote them down, but I don't remember them now. "Thank you, dear," she said, and hung up.
WEIRD. (The rest of the dream was weirder and less coherent-- a sad bride came down the aisle, but instead of being accompanied by organ music, horrible eighties power ballads were playing.)
I know nobody really cares about other people's dreams, but dude, I need a dream interpretation. Anyone up for it?
