Eight Random Facts Meme
Dec. 10th, 2007 06:52 pmWhat better way to get myself posting more than by doing a meme?
Take eight random facts about yourself and then tag eight people to do the same.
The fun part of this meme is trying to think of something people might not know.
1) I've had the world's biggest crush on Bob Hoskins since I was four, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit came out. That's right, that scary old bald man. I don't understand it myself, but when I see him on a movie poster or hear his voice as I'm flipping channels, I'm hooked. It's kind of like my thing for Geoffrey Rush was, before it became popular to be madly in love with Geoffrey Rush.
2) I love the smell of gasoline and gunpowder, two smells that a majority of people dislike. My grandmother felt the same way, and she used to say that that made the two of us witches. I don't really know what that means, but I think of it every time I smell either.
3) I'm terrified of Drano. Every time I have to use it, I become convinced that I've accidentally gotten some on my hand or in my eye and I spend a large chunk of time scrubbing, just in case, even though I know I don't really have any on me. I had to pour some into my sink and my shower today, and I'm still not quite convinced I don't have any on my eyelid. Even though I don't. But I might. Except I don't. I'd better flush out my eye just in case.
4) My body temperature is lower than the standard body temperature, by almost a degree. I don't know what that's about.
5) I collect rocks. Not necessarily important rocks with actual names, but pretty ones I find on the side of the road or in a ditch or on a hiking path. I have a desk drawer full of rocks that await polishing, as soon as I find a decent rock tumbler to replace the one the house painters ruined.
6) I sometimes have difficulty telling red from orange, especially when it's one of those weird shades they call red-orange. Is it red? Is it orange? Don't expect me to know.
7) I have a giant ceramic beer stein that depicts a Viking-like warrior defeating a dragon. The top is a wizard in blue holding a staff. I have no idea where this came from. I'm pretty sure someone gave it to me when my father was still a lawyer; other than that, it's all a big blank. The stein itself is pretty cool, though.
8) I can't go to bed at night until I've won a game of Solitaire. Which has been made more difficult by the fact that I play Vegas-style, for, like, money and stuff, so by 1 AM I'm $1400 in debt and I still haven't won anything, but I KEEP PLAYING because I can't sleep until I'VE WON, DAMMIT, which gets harder to do the later it is. That might be why I'm so tired all the time.
Tagging is evil.
Whew. That was harder than I thought it would be.
