Today we made the big step to DSL. I've been liberated from the dark, dank, rat-infested dungeon that was dial-up, and now I'm coming out blinking into the light that is high-speed internet.

Something along those lines.

I got to set it all up this afternoon (AT&T is a big believer in the self-install, apparently) and I get to spend all my non-work hours tomorrow setting up the other computers and hiding wires and finding wireless cards.

My new happy place (besides teh internet):

All of these are imeem.com streaming vids. Hopefully that site works for you. I will totally be linking more later because I am crazy! Enjoy!

Don't Stop Me Now by Charmax, Doctor Who spoilers through s3 finale.

The Way We Get By by Charmax, Supernatural spoilers through first season only probably.

Dance with the Devil by Severa, Life on Mars, spoilers through end of series.

Time bomb by Luminosity, Life on Mars, spoilers through series 1 only, I think.

You Can Call Me by SDWolfpup, due South!, RayV, RayK, and Fraser.

Zebra by Shalott, due South!, RayK.

Pavlov's Bell by Butterflydm, due South!, Fraser centric.

This is How it Works by Lim, SGA, McKay/Sheppard. (Most of my SGA vids are McSheppy but I don't think that makes them any less enjoyable. This is a vid for the fic Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose by Synecdochic which you've probably already read if you read SGA fanfic, but yeah I'm linking it anyway.

Cartoon Heroes by Mamoru, SG-1/SGA behind the scenes vid!

Us by Lim, it's multifandom and fantastic!

You are brilliant.

"The Way We Get By"-- AMAZING.

Ooh. I still haven't seen any episodes of Due South. Is it okay to watch these vids, or will I be sucked into another show? (Maybe I should just bite the bullet and see if I can find episodes.)

Or Life on Mars. Is that also something I should look into?

Also, I'm ashamed to admit I apparently haven't read "Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose." Remedying that now!

Wow. When you said "Us" was multi-fandom... you weren't kidding. It's fantastic!

*beams*

It's like one of the few SPN vids I have and I watch it all the time!

Ok, I thought you watched due South. I guess I'm projecting Sarah onto you or something. I think that the vids will make you want to watch it because they are teh awesome so you will probably get sucked it. Bite the bullet and get a hold of them. It's like cracky good fun!

Don't watch the vid that spoils for the end of the series but you should give the Time Bomb vid a look. The series is only 16 episodes total and they are well written and made of awesome. Plus John Simm is a hottie. *g*

OMG! Go read it now! You will will not regret the time spent on it!

I know! There are clips from stuff I've never seen! I ♥ [livejournal.com profile] lim! (She also apparently organized the big group read of Speranza's Written by the Victors and just wow. I'm looking forward to listening to that one on the way to Florida. But if I remember correctly it is very slashy so it may not be for you.)

I don't watch it, but I'm so close to almost watching it the slightest thing could tip me over. I'll check out the non-spoilery vid. :D

OMG. I never wanted that fic to end! It was amazing and beautiful and I stayed up waaaaay to late to watch it, but it was worth it! And then I watched the vid, and then I cried, because I am a sap. :]

So, you have teh fast internets and aren't chatting with me? For shame...

Date: 2007-12-07 05:17 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
No, no! It's not like that! We only have the fast internets on Mom's computer, and I had to give up my computer's phone line to hook up hers.

So no internets for Spawny. :(

And Mom has no chat system on her compy. Not yet, at any rate.

But tomorrow night we should have wireless hooked up. And I should be online after shows.

How are you today?

YouTube vids!

Do Your Thing the Daily Show/the Colbert Report! I dare you to watch the whole thing without getting a big ol' goofy grin on your face. *g*

Sexyback Battlestar Galactica pilots, pure eye candy. Prior knowledge of the show is unnecessary.

Every Me Every You Supernatural.

Pretty Fly for a White Guy, NCIS, DiNozzo specifically.

Chasing Cars by Sidewalk Doctor, Doctor Who spoilers through end of S2. (Made me miss Rose, and I hate her.)

Men in Black, NCIS. They really are MiBs when you think about it. The head slap synchronization killed me. *g*

You're So Vain, as sung by John Barrowman, Tenth Doctor/Captain Jack.

POTTER PUPPET PALS! THE MYSTERIOUS TICKING NOISE!

In the End, Torchwood/Doctor Who, Captain Jack.

*GIGGLE-SNORT*

"Look at those hips." Hee!

Teehee! The song totally fits.

Now I really miss Nine. (and Rose, a little.) But mostly Nine. *sigh*

HA! The headslaps! Brilliant!

Awwwwwwww. It's so true!

That is my favorite of the Potter Puppet Pals. Hands down. :D

Dammit! Captain Jack NEEDS to be on DW! Forget
Torchwood, the Doctor needs more companions! Especially Jack...

It's so glorious to make that move to high speed. Congrats. May you never be forced to suffer through dialup again. ;D

It totally is. :D

Oh, going back to dialup... would be awful. Especially since I'm completely addicted to high speed now. I can't go back! They can't make me!!

Seriously, though, I guess I could stand it, but I wouldn't be very happy.

It always sucked coming home from college because my dorm had high speed and mom and dad had AOL. I missed my YouTube videos and other downloads.
