This holiday season was mildly uneventful.

We ate copious amounts of food. Extended-family backstabbing was kept to a minimum, thanks to my mother's lessons on what to say to people when they ask what I am doing with my life. There were no dogfights. The cousins and I played MORTAL KOMBAT and MOTOR KOMBAT until we could no longer see straight, and when we got bored with that, we watched Hairspray (and may I just say my love for Mr. Walken grew three sizes that night).

I got kicked in the jaw. I was tickling my little brother, and he pretty much accidentally roundhouse-kicked me hard enough to give me a minor concussion (although not enough of a concussion to make me fall into a dangerous coma-inducing sleep, which, though it sounds dangerous and fatal and stuff, would have been a lovely way to catch up on all the sleep I've missed this week), and to make my jaw act weird. I just took two Tylenol and it still aches, and it's doing this weird popping thing, but I have no insurance so it needs to get better on its own.

I got to fly an airplane. A little one, a four-seater. My Aunt Witty's Dave (all my dad's sisters are with a man named Dave; it's funny and confusing when they're all cooking in the kitchen) is a nationally-acclaimed flight instructor, and he had me taxi the plane around on the runway and lift off and fly and stuff. It was amazing and wonderful, and gave me flashbacks to that time when I was younger when I desperately wanted to go to space, and research told me that the best way was to become a pilot with the Air Force, and I can't help but wonder what my life would have been like if I'd had better eyes. I want to go up again.

Other than that, it was an uneventful Thanksgiving.

The issue with your jaw? Yeah, that sounds similar to what I have ALL THE TIME. So yeah, take some Aleve or such everyday for a week, and it should get better after a while. *pets*

I took some Advil every day and it's not so bad anymore but (entering hypochondriac mode NOW) my jaw's a lot more clicky than it was.

The only reason it worries me is that my jaw used to click and stick and stuff, and I had to wear a football mouth guard to sleep, and it finally stopped. I don't want my jaw to start being clicky again.

Also, *huggles your jaw*

Being roundhouse kicked in the face, getting a concussion, and flying a for-real airplane seems like it ought to equal slightly more than "mildly uneventful".

But hey, your call. :)

I hope your head is ok. And your jaw. *hugs*

Also, how many words are you at now?

Ha, you don't know my family! There was no bloodshed, no catfighting, no jockeying around amongst the adults for who-is-loved-best, food and/or fist throwing, complete breakdowns, cursed travel arrangements, etc.

The airplane and the jaw-kicking were cool and painful, respectively, but compared to past Thanksgivings, yeah. Uneventful. :]

My head is fine. My jaw is better, thank you! *huggles*

I've gone over 50,000! Yay! *dances* Only problem: the story's not finished. Or, you know, coherent. So I've got to finish it and then leave it in a drawer for a couple of weeks and then rewrite it all. :]

How's school and life and stuff? When do you leave for Christmas?

Ha! Uneventful, indeed. When is flying an airplane and getting kicked in the jaw uneventful?

When it's my family getting together for Thanskgiving. ;)

We can get a little crazy when we get together.

Sounds like a rocking Thanksgiving to me. I hope your jaw gets better. *sends happy thoughts to your jaw..and you of course* Also, I checked my schedule of doom and I've managed to get December 30th-Jan 1st off from work. The concert is on Dec 31st. I was thinking, if Sarah is up to it, because I'd hate to invite ourselves, that we might head up on that Sunday and spend Sunday night with Sarah, go to the concert on Monday night, and then head back on Tuesday after taking Sarah home and crashing because it'll probably be late. What do you think? I'll also post this idea on Sarah's journal so she can hurry up and nix this idea if it'll be problematic for her family during the New Year holiday.

Oh, I had a great time. :D My jaw is much better; it's just a little more prone to popping now.

What did Sarah say?

Sorry it took me so long, I had to find it. XD

Copied from Sarah's journal:

I just talked with my mom, and she said it's okay to stay here a few nights, but you need to know a few things...

1.) We're renovating the kitchen, so it's in shambles right now and may or may not be done by New Year's, so expect it to be a mess.

2.) My house is really small, so we may be cramped when sleeping, but there are a few options there. (If either or you have a blow up mattress, that would help greatly.)

3.) I have a jumpy puppy and an old lady dog. I don't know what that might mean for you, but I'll mention it anyway. *g*

If you can deal with those things, I think it can be done. :D

What do you think?

Your brother pulled a Chuck Norris on you? Yikes. How little is little?

Little = thirteen. And almost my height (as much as I hate to admit it).

I was pretty darn impressed (once my mouth stopped bleeding, hehe).
