So I was sick. One of the things that annoys me the most about being sick is the smug healthy people.

"What's the matter?" they ask me.

"Oh, I'm just a bit sick."

"Weren't you sick last month?"

"Umm.... yeah. So?"

"Well. I'm NEVER sick. I had perfect attendance throughout my entire school life."

"Uh... you must be very proud..."

"Most people who miss classes are just slackers. They can't take the workload, so they 'get sick.'"

At this point I usually get a pointed look. "Ha," it seems to say. "Take that, slacker!"

Like I can help that I'm sick. I've been sick since I was born. Do you think I enjoy sniffles? Sore throats? Fevers? Coughing up a lung at least twice a year?

Do you think I enjoyed missing every single Valentine's Day party until I was 10, at which point we no longer had Valentine's parties, so it didn't really matter anymore? Or at least half of my grade-school field trips? Do you know how depressing it is to have to stay in bed all day?

I really don't see why perfect attendance is the end-all, be-all of existance. Yeah, so you're healthy. Yeah, so you never miss a class. I missed five days of class, and yet our grades are the same. What does that say?

It is completely ridiculous, this strange emphasis on a totally unnatural state of health. You haven't had a cold since you were five? Dude--- M. Night Shyamalan needs to talk to you. You've never had a fever? What kind of genetic freak are you?

So this is my response, you unnaturally healthy people who constantly mock my germ-riddled existance---I sneeze in your general direction. Let me take a sip out of your glass. No, I don't think I'm contagious... Oh, let me shake your hand... *cough hack wheeze* Oh, my bad...

GAH!!!

Actually, yes. And not just one person. And not just one time.

But don't worry. Those people will get theirs. *threatening glower*

And I promise not to sneeze on you! I am jealous, however, of your deal with your body. My body and I used to talk a lot, but... well, after all that cake I ate today... I think it hates me...

My body right now is threatening to break the deal... I feel blah.

But cake is good, Alex's body! *g*

Robyn's body: Man, those pieces of cake sure were good. ::audible gaseous emission:: Maybe I should undo the top button. That's gotta be the cheese...

By the way, I'm going to come gloat to you over the fact that I never get sick. I can't wait to rub it in your germy little face. Mwahaha. On second thought, me getting sick would make such sweet poetic justice that I'm not going to risk it. ::gloats from afar::
