stoopbeckHmm... well, I guess since I haven't updated since Tuesday I might as well update now...
Lessee... been so long, I can't really remember everything that happened...
Prepared for Ivan, prepared for Ivan, was kept up all night by the weather radio from hell [Warning! Warning! A severe thunderstorm warning for... Warning! Warning! A flash flood alert for... Warning! Warning! Warning! Tornado alert for... Warning! Warning! We don't know what to alert you to, but be alert! Or else! Seriously, y'all! Don't make us come down there!], sat through bad winds, lost power [home still doesn't have power, which makes me mad... I really wanted to watch the DS9 with Section 31, but... no TV. Wanted to watch "Master and Commander"-- but... no TV.], ended up sitting out parts of Ivan from our back porch [gale force winds rock], had a tree fall within a foot of the room we all were in, read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone [or Philosopher's, if you're a Brit], tried starting Robinson Crusoe, read the first three books of Patrick O'Brien's Aubrey/Maturin series [Master and Commander, Post Captain, and HMS Surprise], strained my eyes something crazy trying to read by candlelight, sang all the good songs from Moulin Rouge! and Songs about Jane, helped fight the good fight against the tree-cutting butchers of Alabama Power, found out I'm related to the only 10 year old in existance who actually wanted to do homework over his hurricane holiday, got an average of maybe four hours of sleep a night, helped out grandparents with post-storm stuff, almost went to see "Wimbledon," got in a stick pile contest with Danny [he resorted to cheating and made an amazingly huge pile of sticks], found a hair in my Fudge Brownie thing with ice cream at Steak and Shake and am now forever scarred, burned things in a big bonfire, Samantha Melyssa and I shocked a wild-and-noisy group of preteens or thereabouts by acting crazier than they did, somehow managed to not study at all for my Brit Lit test, trundled around Montgomery looking at storm damage... in all, a busy couple of days.
