Ah, home. Where the heart is. It's where you lay your hat. My castle, although not necessarily my fortress [If that's not a saying, don't blame me. I asked my brother for a saying about homes. That's his contribution. I love you, Danny.] Since my brain no longer holds any more cliches or references to homes, I must move along to the rest of the post.
Yesterday I got home. I meant to read. Instead, I collapsed into an exam-induced coma. Then I went to a ceremony for Danny's Boy Scout troop. It was... cool, I guess. The inspirational speaker... the only thing I remember about his speech was "Be Prepared." It was his first and last line. I didn't really listen to anything else. Oh, yeah. He also had eight steps or something to success or something... I only remember the last and most important one: Your Why. The only reason that one stuck with me is I couldn't tell if he was saying that your "whine" or your "wife" was the most important. After I figured out it was "why," I stopped paying attention again.
I already miss my roomies. I miss getting e-mail the second it arrives. I miss my high-speed internet connection. I miss AIM. Oh, God Almighty, how I miss AIM. How will I fritter away hours now? I guess I'll have to go back to boring old reading books... *sigh*

Re: The Missing Has Commenced
Date: 2004-12-18 05:19 am (UTC)Aw, crap! I totally missed an awesome oppurtunity! That would have been so awesome! GAH! HOW COULD I... wait, no... that's right, I remember now. I thought of it after the speech.. I think my thought was something along the lines of "Whoa, what's my brother getting into? "Be Prepared?" This can only lead to an imbalance in the Great Circle of Life!" Hee....
