Aug. 25th, 2006 12:55 pmSo, I am a published writer. I have a chapbook of poems. There's even a USBN and everything. I don't know if I've announced this here or not, it happened last semester and other stuff was going on. Anyway. Also, the professor in charge was not on task, and the book itself did not come out until graduation.
So yesterday, she sends people out looking for me in a panic, and I run all over looking for her, and she's nowhere to be found of course, and I had an art show to go see, so I left her a note.
This morning I tracked her down. She tells me that she never sent out the chapbooks [we're supposed to send them to local colleges and bookstores and the Library of Congress], blaming the editor [who is conveniently in France or something similar], and requesting that I work my ass off all this semester getting these books out to various and sundry places.
I know I helped get Janel's book out year before last, but that was to keep from failing another class. And it wasn't my book. And this professor had just finished telling me how easy peasy this semester will be for her-- only four classes! And I'd just gotten finished telling her how all but one of my classes were on the same day, in quick succession, and that it wore me out. And she wanted to schedule the meetings for that day. And she's leaving next semester, anyway. And I wouldn't be so upset if it were any other professor. But... it's her.
And gah.
