Aug. 26th, 2005 12:04 pmHehe. In my post-Pie happiness [and stomachache], I forgot about all the other fun things that happened at the banquet.
There was the part where Robyn, Sarah, and I in our pretty outfits all sat down at a table that was half-filled with atheletes, figuring it would be better to sit at a table of strangers than to be the only population of an otherwise deserted table. A minute later, the large crowd of other people at the table got up and relocated, leaving us the only three people sitting at an extremely large table. Heh.
Or the part where we had to wait while the VIPs went and ate, and everyone's kids went and ate, and tables of people streamed past us with plates so laden with food that they struggled to carry them [I exaggerate, but not by much], and all the elderly people at the buffet table took forever to get their food because they were too busy schmoozing it up, and we nearly had to resort to gnawing on the tablecloth or our own limbs or some of the small children.
Or the pie. Mmm, pie. Several types, in varying flavors, but at the time in which I got mine, there was only pink and yellow. I got yellow-- coconut-- which, yeah, tasted like sunscreen and had the same texture, but it was PIE, DANGIT. That was the first time this week I've completely cleared my plate. Woo!
Or the random band on the green. We all trouped over there, got free t-shirts, listened to some Coldplay, smelled the dead fish, clutched our overstuffed stomachs and went back to our rooms to die quietly.
All in all, good times.
