So...

Danny got a new game for xbox, in which players work cooperatively to get shrek through basically all of the events of Shrek 2. He got me to play too, which was pretty fun. The strangest thing is that was the most interacting I've done with him in a while. It was the first time that we'd sat together for longer than thirty minutes without fighting or drawing blood or, I don't know, using plastique on each other. How sad is it that it took playing a video game to bring us to this point? Don't get me wrong, we still argued a bit ["WHAT are you DOING? YOU JUST WALKED OFF A FREAKING WALL!!!" "Yeah? Well, maybe you shouldn't have DIED just now." "I couldn't help it, you hit me with that bomb. WATCH OUT FOR THAT TROLL!" And so on. Like you guys care.]

Saturday started out with Danny getting me up at the crack-o-dawn [literally. There was just a thin crack of light.] to play some more Shrek. Then we went to his soccer game. They lost about 7-ish to nothing, partially because their coach put his son up as the ONLY forward. That'd be like... like... I can't even think of an analogy because I'm still flabbergasted that he could make such a lousy decision. He puts his afeared-of-the-ball wimp son as the only forward and puts the best kicker on the team on defense. So she can't even go past the center line. Helloooo, earth to nepotist coach, YOUR SON CAN'T PLAY WORTH CRAP! I also got a lot of gossip, relationship advice, and instructions on which rides to go on at the fair [there's this one, and... and it spins you around, and you're spinning, and the music and the spinning and it's called the Scrambler. Then there's this other one, and it spins you around, and the music and stuff, and it's also called the Scrambler." and so on.]from my fourth grade friend [the little sister of one of Danny's best friends... she wanted me to come over to her house to make daisy chains and stuff with her.]. Then I went to the Fair, which was fun aside from the whole money thing... I totally blew away at least thirty bucks. To eat gyros, which I can get in Millbrook anyway, and to spin around, and to be dropped from a ridiculous height after waiting for EVER to be dropped, and for listening to some guy sing... he was good, don't get me wrong, and kudos go out to anyone out there who can play a bit of "Norwegian Wood" during his country concert, but... and I had an enormous amount of fun. I went with Samantha and Melyssa and we were goofy as usual... Melyssa, if you read this, let me know how you feel NOW about your Pimpin' Furry Flaming hat...

Sunday... Sunday I went to church. And... tried to watch "Alex and Emma" for my mom's sake, she picked it out but after an interminably long time [three minutes, people. Three minutes of watching two people with no chemistry mangle stupid lines. Although seeing a laptop set on fire totally rocked.] we had to stop. So I watched "Big Fish." I liked it much better the second time around... the first time I felt like it was a total cop-out, and that it was, quite possibly one of the worst movies I'd seen since... probably Phone Booth, if that was out yet, but I think now that it was just who I was with. The last movie I went to see with him I hated, too... maybe I should watch that again?

Monday I went to my new part-time job. I don't work every day, and while I'm in college it's catch-as-catch-can for time to work, but on holidays and Fridays I should be able to work it. It's not, say, working in a library or whatever, it's manual labor outside in the elements, but I rather prefer it to my last real job, stuffing envelopes. Oh, god, the papercuts... Plus, you know... $8 or so dollars an hour? Oh, yeah. So I basically weeded and picked up sticks and trundled stuff around in a wheelbarrow Monday and Tuesday. But I also made heaps of money! Which I had been saving up to pay off some ridiculous stuff, but it turns out that it all worked out after all, so I don’t really have to sell my soul for some quick cash. Yay! Any opportunity to get out of a Faustian pact with the devil is a good one! And now I’m off to see what happened on Friday’s Enterprise… hopefully Archer gets the Mob Bosses to defeat the Evil Alien Nazis who invaded… Chicago?... and steal their Time Machine and right the temporal mishaps and whatnot… And by the way… the most awesome made up word I’ve heard this week? “Whatnotterie.” As in, “They were up to various whatnotterie…” Anyway… Enterprise calls.
