Oh, 17-year old me.

So I found one of my old journals. Best bit ever, dated Dec. 28, 2002:

"I am scared about what lies ahead: college, etc., the real world, growing up... sigh. I've been told that the next five years would be the hardest years of my life. God, please help me get through them. By the way, it would be neat to have a lava lamp."

OH MY GOD. LIFE IS SCARY I WANT A LAVA LAMP. WHAT SORT OF CRACK WAS 17-YEAR-OLD ME ON?

I also found a pretty frickin' awesome haiku, dedicated to my grandfather, who even then was eaten up by Parkinson's:

"Your once-golden voice
Your hands, once swift and limber--
Where'd your music go?"
