So, somehow, yesterday, I managed to really mess up my eye. And of course it's not the eye that has the issues, it's the eye that has the near-perfect vision, which is just, you know, perfect. I'm trying to keep from having to go to the doctor and all by keeping my eye closed (because, hello, still no insurance, and if they charged me $120 for a sinus infection I'd hate to see what they'd charge for a weird eye issue) and I'm really glad I have my glasses because otherwise I'd be in absolute abject misery right now. And it's really not so bad, and my eye will be better by tomorrow, and the more I tell myself this the more likely it is to be true, right?

Only problem: So I thought my depth perception was bad back in the pre-glasses days? It's so much worse when I'm trying to navigate a dark hallway with glasses slipping down my nose and only one eye open. It felt like those funhouses at the fair with the wobbly floors.

I think I need to go lie down for a while.

(Sorry, you might get that once you are done watching Due South. Hope your eye gets better over night.)

IT WILL.

At least it will make you be able to understand me more often again. Unless I am done with my obsession and will be obsessing about other stuff.

Awww. I hope that by the time I get caught up you are still obsessed. It's more fun to be obsessed with other obsessed people around.

I try my best. Though you might not get obsessed at all. Maybe you won't even like it. In which case I will cry.

DON'T CRY. From what everyone's told me, this is one show that it is easy to obsess over. And the men in your icons are very very pretty, which helps. ;)

It is a cute and fluffy show. But some people don't like it. And some people don't adjust well to RayK, because they love RayV so much. So those two things could happen to you. Or you could love RayV a lot and then love RayK even more. That is what happened to me. :D

So, what exactly happens with the Rays? Do they switch actors on us? Because I'm used to that happening, so I don't think that would be an issue.

They had cancelled the show and by the time the producers got it running again the actor of the original Ray wasn't available for the show anymore. But they actually didn't make it that bad. I love the solution they came up with.

Problem is that on top of the partner changing, they also had mostly new producers and a new writing team, so the whole feel of the show changes a bit. It becomes more silly, because Paul, the lead actor and also producer, writer, composer and maybe costume designer and catering guy, was more or less going "what would I love to do" instead of sticking to what happened in the first two seasons.

It is not entirely out of character, but while he kinda was the younger brother in the first two seasons, he was the older one in the last two. Some don't like that change in dynamic.

I actually prefer season one/two Fraser and the writing on those episodes, but I do prefer the character interaction in the last two seasons (for you Americans just the third) and I love RayK like almost no one else. Plus it shows that the actors have more fun working with each other. So both "shows" (even IMDB lists them as two different shows) have their appeal.

But if you hate the first seasons, you might still like the last. Or the other way around, cause they are different.

YAY!

I really hope you'll like both parts of the show as much as I do. Well, maybe a little less. Not sure you'll need another obsession. ;)

Obsession is my middle name. It is so incredibly easy for me to obsess over a show, seriously. And this show has the advantage of there being other people around for me to obsess with, unlike some of my other television obsessions where it was just me, so yay!

And that is an awesome thing about this show. It is dead for like 10 years, but fandom is still active and the people in it are grown up. Which is awesome, cause I hate all those drama teens in most other fandoms. Like Supernatural or Doctor Who.

And I guess it shows that the show does not lose its charm.

They are indeed.

They make me want to stay away from fandom. And that is sad.

I'm assuming you're okay now though, as there haven't been any recent posts of, "I'M BLIND! I'M BLIND!"

I've got, like, this thing on my eye? And if it's not gone by Tuesday, I have to go in for a surgery, apparently, which is especially not cool because I have no money, and no insurance. I may have to hock some furniture or something, because if this eye thing gets bigger, they might have to like remove my eye? Maybe?

I'm spending a lot of energy on not freaking out. :P
