So, we survived the storm. But it had to have passed pretty close by, since apparently our Prattville Wal-Mart and that whole area was trashed. So far, no reports of serious injury, although quite a few people were hurt and several homes were totaled.

It got a little hairy here, to the point where it began to hail and Mom and I were crammed into the bathtub with two ferrets and a dog, and my brother was in dad's closet. I'm just glad we're okay.

I celebrated by watching my backlog of TV.

This was definitely the best episode in a long time. Kavanaugh fainting! Teal'c and Ronon!  Ronon messing with a sleeping John!  Explosions!  Wraith!  Rodney!   And oh my god it was awesome.

And, of course, next week's promo: YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE LAST FIVE MINUTES--SO WE'RE GOING TO SHOW YOU NOW, BECAUSE WE'RE SPOILY SPOILER SPOILERPANTS!

Apparently they thought just leaving it with "You won't believe it" was too suspenseful? They had to go and show us what we wouldn't believe? But... if you show us... then... we know. SCIFI WHY YOUR BRAIN SO SMALL?!

OMG I KNOW! LIKE WTH?! WHY ARE YOU SHOWING THIS TO US IN THE COMMERCIAL?! IF I HADN'T ALREADY KNOW IT WAS COMING IN NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE I WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE PISSED OFF.

I'm quite pleased you are not a dead Alex. *nods*

The thing is, I had no idea when a certain someone who thinks you're a wee, sexy thing would be back. So thanks, Sci-Fi, by proving yet again that you're a dumbass...

The best eps are the ones we know nothing about! When are they going to get that memo?! *sporks them*

I also enjoy the one who calls you a wee, sexy thing... and thinks Alex and I are sisters. *G*

For reals. Although I was glad I went into Sunday knowing what was going to happen. But for stuff like this I want to be surprised like whoa! Of course if the actor spoils it at a con I don't get angry with them but if scifi spoils it I'm going to have words.

Yes! *smooshes him*

maybe it's like those commercials for "Don't Forget the Lyrics!" where they showed the guy fall to his knees clutching his heart and made it sound/look like he died on the show. :p I really don't think we need the "next week on..." clips, anyway. If we like the show we just watched, we'll watch the one next week. If not...then they need to give up or try harder. That should be a rule or something.

We finally hid in the closet once our power went off (we had been hearing sirens for like an hour and continued to sit in the living room next to our huge window, not our shining moments) but we had no idea how bad it got.

I figured that since we were okay, that y'all were too, but it's good to hear.

I totally agree! I mean, it's nice if you want to give us a one-line like "Character A faces an impossible goal," or "Character B has a night she'll never forget," but don't give it all away! Otherwise, why should we even watch the episode next week? We already know what's going to happen.

Also, the thing they gave away? It would have been incredibly awesome to have been blindsided by it. I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't know when, and I would have liked to at least been given the opportunity to do a spit-take.

Dude, you guys lost power? We had the occasional flicker, but they never went out. I'm glad you guys are okay, though, because as soon as people on tv started going on about Cobbs Ford Road, I was a little scared. Luckily it was farther down the road.

Tornadoes are crazy.

You know, once we were in the bathroom, I kind of wished I'd taken my camera with me, but by that point it was bad enough that we had to be in the bathtub, so no last-minute-running to my room.

I'll see if I can get Mom to agree to a reenactment... :D

I'm sorry! I was catching up on Torchwood, and then I was trying to finish this book (which was amazing, but unfortunately it made me cry, a lot, and I didn't finish it until about half an hour ago, and then I had to get online to cheer myself up, and long story short I missed out on talking to you on YIM. :[

SERIOUSLY

What really irritates me is that even if I'd tried to be good and skipped the teaser, I watch enough on the SciFi channel that eventually I'd be blindsided by that stupid teaser. Gah.

I've actually been strenuously avoiding AIM for various reasons, but talking to you would be more than enough reason to sign in more often. :) My sn is elanorrigby513, and hopefully I'll be signed on in the future. :D

What is a gtalk?

OMG Beatles SN FTW!

I avoid AIM like the devil. I understand.

GTalk is the chat program attached to gmail. (If you don't know, gmail is made of awesome.) It is pretty much the only thing I use now. About a month or so ago google integrated aim into the gtalk program and now I don't avoid AIM like the devil anymore because I can get to it through gmail.

aim = docspacemonkey85

gtalk = skifigirl

You totally should. Then of course you will fall in love with gmail and well there is no wrong with that.

Yes, sleep is of the good. I am debating a shower now or a shower in the morning. Decisions, decisions.

I think you'll enjoy it. (Best part, no one is using it so you can totally avoid everyone you don't want to talk to without having to you know block them.)

From: [identity profile] stoopbeck.livejournal.com
Ah, the age-old dilemma.

That is totally sweet. That right there is pretty much why I have YIM in the first place. And it's easier just to not sign on to AIM than block the people I don't want to talk to. I think I'm going to like GTalk. :]

Okay, I'm totally for real going to sleep now.

Yes, I think I should go for the now shower, because I'm not going to bed any time soon and I have to be up and dressed before 0900 tomorrow. (I am gonna die when I get a job and I have to be up at 6 in the morning. But then I did just fine the 12 years I was in school, so perhaps I will just have to retrain my body.)

I could go on and on and on about GTalk, but that would be geeky so I'll refrain.

I don't believe you.

I'm really glad you guys are ok. Gabe's mom was definitely at work (at Belk) when the tornado hit, but it missed her too, thank God.

I am trying to imagine you in the tub with your mom and a veritable zoo. It's a pretty awesome image.

P.S. JCole and I were just talking about how much we miss reading your writing. Sooo, if you ever find yourself with anything that's just begging to be read, you know who to talk to. Just saying. ;)

The problem with getting up at 6:00 now as opposed to getting up at 6:00 when I was in high school is that now I know what I'm missing out on. DARN YOU, REAL JOB. That's why I need to become a novelist, so I can keep my own hours and sleep in, if I so choose.
