Don’t ask me what I’m doing with my life now that I’m out of college. If I knew what I wanted to do with my life, I probably wouldn’t have gone to college in the first place. I would have just gone out and done whatever it was that I was supposed to do. As of right now, I’m still finding my way.

Don’t ask me if writing is a “real job,” and suggest that teaching might be more in my sights. If I’d wanted to teach, I’d be an education major. When I say I'm looking at jobs in writing, don't tell me I won't get anywhere. Don't scoff when I tell you I'm writing a screenplay. It's something that I enjoy, and it's potentially profitable. Let me know the next time you write a 107-page paper.

Don’t ask me when I’m going to get a real job. My current job is in fact real. I get money and everything. Honest.

Don’t tell me that my current job is beneath me, especially not in front of my mother whose job is similar. My mother and I work hard, and enjoy the fact that we get to work outside. Now remove your foot from your mouth and leave us in peace.

Don’t ask me anything more strenuous than “How’s the weather,” or “Did you see last night’s episode of X.” If you do, I might snap. And that might be bad. Because I’ll either cry (which is never ever pretty) or go postal (also not pretty), and you really really don’t want either to happen.

Thank you and goodnight.

I would never belittle your desire to be a writer.

If you don't mind my asking, what is your current job?

I am all over the non-stressful questions. *g*

*hugs* I love you and your desire to write and work outside!

I kinda figured out what I wanted to do and ended up going to more school to iron out the details. :p

I hope I never have to write a 107 pg paper.

So, how is the weather?

It's 75 here...I miss last week when it got down to a high of lower 60s a couple of days.

I appreciate that. The sad part about using LJ to vent frustration is that it hardly ever applies to anyone who actually reads my journal.

*takes a deep breath* I am currently working for the Alabama Wildlife Federation. I help upkeep something like 40 or so acres of gardens. I do a lot of hard work in the hot sun. (When I reread my job description in the post, it kind of sounded like my mother and I were streetwalkers or something. Heh.) I like it because I'm outside.

:D

You know I'm just jealous that you can write. *g* Yes, this is very true.

What's wrong with working for the Alabama Wildlife Federation? If you enjoy it and aren't starving who's to say it's beneath you?

Totally stressful non-stressful question: Action!Ben or Inaction!Aeryn?

*huggles* Thank you! It's people like you that make life worth living. :D

I've never really had a set idea of what I wanted to do. Recently, I've narrowed it down to "I want to write." But I've got to figure out what to do while I'm doing all this writing so I don't end up starving or whatever.

Hehehe. I guess 107 pages is getting me ready for writing novels. Seriously though, 107 isn't too bad because it's pretty much all dialogue, which always happens pretty easily for me.

The weather is wonderful! It was actually hot today, but recently it's been in the 80's tops, hitting the sixties at night. Definitely a welcome change from 102 in the shade. :D

You need to sell your screenplay so we can by an island with no other people on it. ;)

Awww, you make me blush. :D

Apparently, the fact that I am not a lawyer or something upsets these people, as does the fact that I get my hands dirty when I work. Whatever. Like you say. Who's to say it's beneath me? I go home happy every day.

Oooh. Action!Ben. Inaction!Aeryn is kind of creepifying.

Best of luck with the future planning...as long as you love what you do, you'll be fine. :)

so true on the weather! I was home for a couple of weeks before school started and was thrilled when I could go biking in the evening b/c 97 was "cool." :p

*g*

But would you be happy as a lawyer? I wouldn't want to work outside all day long as I'm allergic to the outdoors but you go home happy everyday. That's all that matters.

You've made the correct choice.

Q2: The Sisko or Jean-Luc Picard?

I need to meet with Hilgartner so he can tell me exactly what I need to change to make it better. Because I've looked at it for so long that I can't see the problems anymore.

Our own island! Polarbear-free, right?

No, I wouldn't. Which is why I'm not a lawyer. :D

Um. As much as I love Patrick Stewart, I'd have to go with The Sisko.

All you really need to know is that she is brilliant and awesome and shouldn't have to conform to other peoples' standards. What they think is "real" isn't necessarily all that right or good. She's a tough chick and is way more phenomenal than they'll ever be, anyway.

(Not that I'm bitter towards certain people over this kind of thing or anything. And this is totally not directed at you, Sara, it's just a profession of Alex's awesomeness. *g*)

As an English minor, I take no offense. :P

Usually, I re-read what I wrote repeatedly before sending, but my brain is squishy right now. *g*

There you go. I'm satisfied with your choices.

Me too! You can't beat The Sisko I mean he's a Prophet! (I have no one to fangirl DS9 with.)

I remember seeing some minor mistakes when I read it, but I know you wrote some of it at like 2:00 in the morning, so I didn't say anything. *g* Any you don't need to listen to him anyway. :P

Of course! Unless they're plushy. :)

Yay! Well, now you totally have me to join you in DS9 fangirling! It's my favorite of the Star Treks. :D Sisko doesn't get enough credit. He's amazing! And he's got that voice!
