So, partially due to the fact that I didn't sleep at all last night [not intentionally, I wanted to sleep, but... no. Just lay there until 6 when Mom knocked on the door to get me up], and partially due to stress from having a non-family member constantly around [Peggy, our friend from New Orleans who's been staying with us since the hurricane], I had the most spectacular meltdown today.

The end results were good; I compulsively cleaned my room and threw out half the clothes in my closet [by "threw out" I mean "stuffed into bags so Mom could sort through them for stuff she wanted, then Peggy could sort through, and whatever's left gets taken to the Welcome center"], and looked at paint chips to change the color of my room.

Of course, it wasn't really pretty while it was happening. I was home alone except for the doggehs, who went and hid in the kennel as I cleaned.

We also put all the ornaments on the tree today. And by "all" I mean "enough for many trees." Our tree is so gaudy and wonderful. *happy sigh* And Little Brother made chocolate chip cookies. Yum!

Christmas should be totally gaudy and not one bit [well, maybe a little bit, but a very little bit] tasteful.

Oh, hugs are awesome. *huggle-clings*

Our Christmas is not so much gaudy as completely unmatched. ^^ It works.

Ours is unmatched as well.

Spectacularly so. We've got this miniature [miniature--ha! it takes up almost a whole room!] village, and above it, on the fan dangle, are two angels. One looks, well, beautiful and angel-y. The other is something my brother made out of paper that looks... like... I can't even describe it.

Also, in the same village, we have random Star Wars action figures, and rubber Halloween bats, and a snowsnake, and so on.

That must be it. We all share brains! [In a totally non-zombiriffic way, of course.]

I'm impressed your meltdown resulted in such productivity!

Why on earth did you have to get up at 6 am?

Me too! I guess I'm making up for my lack of productivity this semester.

My brother was one of the readers in the Christmas pageant. We had to be at church by 8. Which means leaving by 7:30.

And then we got there, and it turned out they had posted the time wrong, and he didn't have to be there until 8:30. So I could have totally gotten at least thirty more minutes of non-sleep in, dangit!

And of course the pageant itself wasn't until 9:30. Coffee [three sugars, five creams] works wonders, I tell you what.

You know, since we share a brain, I wonder if we also share emotions? Because I've been kind of emotional all day, and I did clean a lot!

I have been crazy emotional all day. So it's probably bleeding through on our brain connection. Sorry about that. :[

Maybe we share a partial three-way brain connection. I haven't been quite so emotionally distraught, but I have obsessively cleaned my room for the last two days.

Heh, my tree gets gaudier by the day. First it was wee birds. Then glass birds. Then red berries sparsely placed. Then curly stick-things everywhere. Add some more feathered bird ornaments. Then many more berries. Crown it all with a Christmas peacock, and you have the feathered debacle that is our Christmas tree. But oh, how glorious it is.
