So. To cheer myself up...

For those of you who haven't seen the movie "The Ring" [if there are any, that's amazingly sad], I won't be too spoilery. The basic premise is that there's this tape, and if you watch it, you die seven days later. But freaky stuff happens in the meantime. One of the freaky things is that your face is all distorted when you take pictures or video of yourself.

I went to an awards banquet my senior year [ironically it was held in Huntingdon's DH] with a group of friends. "The Ring" had come out not too long before, and we were trying to convince a friend to go see it. She declined, on the basis that she didn't like scary movies.

Later on, we took pictures.

I'd just like to note that the only person not distorted a la creepy Ring-like distortion is Ashley, who didn't ever watch the movie. Heh. Muy awesome, no?

I don't think I've ever seen this picture, so I just have to say: Duuuuude. That is so freaking awesome.

In Latin American History yesterday, we learned that the Mayans often threw people [mostly women] into freshwater natural wells caled cenotes as a sacrifice to the gods. Ring any bells? [Maybe that wasn't her purpose, but it's still weird.]

I also think the Aztec method of sacrificing people/prisoners to the gods is eerily similar to that of the Murgos. That David Eddings is just so clever...

Isn't that great?

And dude. The Aztec thing? I had a teacher in seventh grade who went into so much detail about Aztec sacrifices that none of us could eat lunch afterwards... so it just makes the Murgos that much more gah.

And ewww... wells. I wish we had a Latin American History class... you guys learn the coolest things!

You've made it passed the 7 day mark, so I hope you'll be okay. ;)

*clings to you anyway*
