Regina's Song

So. I'm reading the new David [and Leigh] Eddings book. It's not fantasy, it's a thriller of all things.
It's hard getting used to it. I mean, this is the guy who brought us Algroths and the Orb and "I wish I could invent a word." And... now, a thriller.
I can see the typical Eddings style in a lot of the phrasing, but it's odd to say the least. Plus, it's a first person narrative, and there are very few of those that I can comfortably wrap my head around.
But it is an interesting story. I'm about a quarter through. We'll see what happens next.
