May. 28th, 2005 10:21 pmYay for the library! Here's what I got, minus some details because I can't bring myself to walk all the way across the house to double-check names and titles.
Books Rented:
Shattered, Watchers, and some other book by Dean Koontz-- the one with the writer and the Italian cop named Tony [Tony!]
From A Buick 8 [At last-- it's been on my check-out list for ever so long]
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre [Not "Lost" in the book form, apparently.]
As I Lay Dying
Metamorphosis [Woo!]
Some Other Book In The Classics Section By That Guy Who Wrote The Great Gatsby
I also checked out 50 First Dates [not my first choice. I wanted Flight of the Pheonix for the Hugh Laurie-y goodness, but alas, it was checked out. Darn you, Millbrook Library. Tangent-- At Movie Stop, Dad found a season of Blackadder, which I totally would have gotten if it weren't a freaking $99. Not even YoungAndCute!Hugh and Rowan Atkinson are worth that.].
Also. I beat Dad in a ThatGuy! contest! We were watching some old war flick and a spitfire nurse was giving the blood-poison-y John Wayne trouble. We saw the nurse, and immediately our ThatGuy! senses tingled.
"Casablanca!" he shouted.
"No way! It's the wife from That One Movie With The Guy, And All The Bad Stuff, And Then The Worse Stuff When He's Not There, And The Wings And Christmas--- with James Stuart And Lionel Barrymore and... *gestures* you know which one I mean."
"It's A Wonderful Life? No way."
But it was. *gloats* Wooo! I win!
Yes, I am petty and juvenile, why'd you ask?
