(A loud thud from outside awakened our diligent and incredibly blind little dog, Pansy. Who decided to bark as if the British were coming RIGHT FREAKING NOW UNDER THE WINDOW THAT'S THEM OMG, which, not so much fun at midnight.)

Alex: "Pansy, it's the wind."

Pansy: "Grrrowf!"

Alex: "Pansy, hush."

Pansy: "Rowf!"

Alex: "Pansy."

Pansy: "Grrrrrrff."

Alex: "Pansy! Hush."

Pansy: "grrrrrrrrrrrrf"

Alex: "PANSY!!"

(It's going to be a long night.)

It is good to be prepared. I just would prefer to not get the constant updates from the little dog.

Oh, I know all too well how this goes. But Ginger has picked up on the beagle bark and she has this initial shrill baying bark when she's particularly intent on communicating that "OMG the neighbor kids are walking down the street, the NERVE" and it always makes me lose five years of my life. Thankfully Tansy just growls most of the time. But it's a losing battle trying to quiet two of the barkingest breeds.

If anything else you can have your bags packed and ready for when the British get there. That way you can beg them to take you with them when they go back to England! :Db
